Reception at Pátio da Galé with Amália by Júlio Resende

Starting the presentation of the cultural and social programme for ECREA ECC 2014, We invite all conference delegates for a special social event with drinks and snacks, taking place at one of the most beautiful places in Lisbon from 20:00 to 21:30.

Pátio da Galé, with its unique and majestic architecture, is located at Praça do Comércio, a recently renovated magnificent square, overlooking the Tagus, that was once Lisbon’s commercial and power center. Attendance is free of charge for conference delegates.

The jazz pianist Júlio Resende will present reception guests with an unforgettable performance of a selection from his new record Amália. In a work acclaimed by Portuguese and international critics for its original and beautiful approach to the Fado tradition, Júlio Resende revisits the repertoire of Amália Rodrigues, Portuguese Fado legend, in the first official re-edition of her voice in the 21st century.

Morning Tour

Departure from the central pick up point at Rossio square in the city centre of Lisboa for a visit to Sintra - considered to be one of the most beautiful villages in the country. In 1995 UNESCO recognized the unique characteristics and classified the whole village as a World Heritage Site. Sintra is located about 30 km from Lisboa on the slopes of the Sintra hill enjoying a micro climate providing a luxurious vegetation where almost anything will grow.
